Privacy Policy

Covershot ("we", "us") makes an iOS app that uses AI to enhance your photos and create photoshoot-style images from them. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Covershot to collect as little as possible: there are no accounts and no logins.

1. The photos you submit

When you run a shoot, the photo you select is sent over an encrypted connection to our servers and then to Google Gemini, Google's AI image service, which generates your enhanced shots. We tell you this — naming Google Gemini — before your first photo is ever sent, and you can decline.

• Your photo is used only to generate your shots.
• Your uploaded photo is held only while your shots are being generated and is deleted from our servers automatically within 1 hour.
• The generated results are stored on our servers for a maximum of 24 hours so you can view and download them, and are then deleted automatically. If you are not a subscriber, you receive low-resolution watermarked previews; full-resolution results are available to subscribers during that 24-hour window.
• Shots you save, and your shot history, are stored only on your device. Deleting the app removes them.
• During onboarding we ask a few setup questions, including how you identify (gender) and your age range. Your answers are sent to our servers with each generation request and included in the instructions we give the AI so your shots suit you. They are also recorded in the analytics events described in section 3, keyed to the same anonymous identifier.

2. Subscriptions and purchases

Subscriptions are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase and managed for us by RevenueCat. To enforce your generation allowance and check your subscription, we store a small record keyed to an anonymous identifier (a RevenueCat app user ID that is not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID): your subscription status, the current billing period, and how many generations you have used. We never receive your payment card details — Apple handles billing.

3. Analytics & diagnostics

To understand how the app is used and keep it reliable, we collect anonymous usage events (for example, that a generation was started, which pack was chosen, and your answers to the onboarding questions, including gender and age range) via PostHog, and crash and performance reports via Sentry. These are keyed to the same anonymous identifier as your subscription record — never to your name, email, or Apple ID — and they never include your photos, the images the AI returns, or any text you type into the app. Neither is used to track you across other apps or websites. We also log basic, non-identifying technical information server-side (such as error events and aggregate request counts); these logs do not include your photos.

4. What we do not do

• We do not require an account, name, email, or phone number.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because we do not track.
• We do not show ads and do not sell your data.
• We do not use your photos to train any AI model.

5. Children

Covershot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

6. Your rights

Because we do not hold accounts, and photos and results are deleted from our servers automatically (uploads within 1 hour, results within 24 hours), there is very little personal data to access or delete. Your on-device history is cleared by deleting the app. You can delete the server-side data associated with your anonymous identifier yourself: in the app, open Settings and tap Delete my data. This removes the subscription and usage record we keep, along with any of your uploads or generated results still on our servers. 7. Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app.
